I started playing drums in 2013. As a child, I used to play around with a toy drumset that my parents gave me, but it wasn’t until 2013 that I began taking proper lessons. I studied rhythmic solfège, limb coordination, independence, and the basics of popular music.
My interest in synthesizers grew during my master’s program, along with my flatmates and bandmates in Milan, where I was part of the band UNOAUNO. My first synthesizers were the Korg Volcas, but when I moved to Grenoble to work at Arturia, I started playing and collecting modular synthesizers. I was really fascinated by the idea of combining different elements and the sense of improvisation that modular synthesizers bring to a performance. I found it to be a perfect match with drums. Just like discovering drum patterns by accident, with modular synths, you can stumble upon new sounds by making mistakes.
